Landscaoign & Tree Maintenance

Professional tree care and shrub management that transforms your landscape's health and visual appeal.

This comprehensive landscaping project involved strategic winter pruning of mature deciduous trees and professional shaping of established evergreen shrubs. The work focused on maintaining tree health through proper crown management while creating clean, geometric lines on ornamental landscaping elements.

The Story

The Problem
The homeowner was dealing tree branches that were growing to pose potential risks to the home's roofline, in their Back Yard. The mature deciduous tree had developed an unbalanced crown with several large limbs extending dangerously close to the house structure.
The Reality
Winter pruning was essential to prevent storm damage and maintain the trees' structural integrity for years to come. The evergreen shrubs had also grown beyond their intended boundaries, losing their crisp architectural form that complemented the home's clean lines.
Key Decisions
The decision was made to perform major structural pruning near the end of the dormant winter season to minimize stress on the tree. For the evergreen shrubs, we chose to maintain their existing rounded form while reducing overall size to restore their intended proportions.
The Outcome
The result is a beautifully balanced landscape that enhances both safety and curb appeal. The tree now has proper clearance from the home while maintaining its natural form, and the precisely shaped evergreens provide year-round structure to the landscape design.
Important
Did you know that cutting a tree branch creates an open wound that the tree has a process for healing, and that you should never cut the "collar" of a tree branch, because it creates an unnatural "injury" that harms the tree?
Pro Tip
Always cut as close to the collar as possible, WITHOUT cutting the collar. Whatever you leave attached, beyond the collar, will become a scar, and you want scars to be small. They leak moisture.
Question for You
How does priper tree trimming contribute to the overall health and longevity of the tree?
